yeah. there was a heat wave, and then it was gone. and now in the midwest it is becoming hot again, at least in my un-airconditioned haven where i must sleep.
that is no reason for not writing. i wanted to say something about the stupidness of the israel/lebanon/hezballah thing, like infants fighting over their turn at a toy with bullets instead of slobber. but i don’t have to say a thing. after a full month of crisis, all of the gasbags have blown themselves out, each expert in the rolodex has been tapped and now we as a nation of 24-hour news cycle junkies can get our fix on what some guy mel said about some people who share a particular religion and culture.
you know, i wonder what it is about folks in the sandbox that makes them fight each other and blow themselves up to do it. and then i discovered that the average summer temperature is somewhere near 100°. These people don’t just have it out for each other. they’re crazy, made crazy by a constant onslaught of heat.
once somebody gets some consistent air conditioning over there, maybe things will quiet down.
